Top-ranked Sabalenka Secures Consecutive WTA Player of the Year Awards.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second straight season.
The 27-year-old secured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.
A Season of Dominance
Throughout the year, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine finals, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The Belarusian also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the world number one, ending 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.
This past summer, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.
Record-Breaking Achievements
Sabalenka concluded the season with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and earned a record £11m in prize money.
She earned nearly 80% of the votes cast by international tennis media.
On 28 December, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".
