The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

The author

Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the company stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an review of allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books in total, which features a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
