Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete

The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night confirming they are aware of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in communication with the league office.

The organization omitted the name of Rice by name in their statement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Claims Shared on Social Media

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice by name, posted a set of images on social media that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

Police Reports Currently Not on File

No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.

Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles

Rice missed the initial part of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left multiple people hurt. He was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.

Statistically, he finished the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
