Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
A plane transporting the US defense secretary was forced to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the plane's windshield, as stated by an official announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft landed in accordance with established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative commented in a public statement.
He was traveling back from a brief trip to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This event does not mark the initial instance that a US military aircraft ferrying a high-ranking official has encountered mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to turn back to the US capital after suffering a technical issue.
