British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”
