Barça Set to Play First Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in La Liga over two years following their departure so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. The club said recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou on 7 November. Officials stated approval is being pursued by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
